Homemade Hot Chocolate

Homemade Hot Chocolate

There’s something undeniably comforting about a warm mug of hot chocolate in the winter, especially when it’s made with real, whole ingredients. This version uses raw milk, organic chocolate, and homemade marshmallows (or Super Mallow, coming to Baile soon!) to create a cozy, nutrient-rich drink that feels indulgent but still supports a slow, intentional lifestyle.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups raw milk1–2 tbsp organic chocolate powderPinch of sea saltHomemade marshmallows or Super Mallow’s (coming soon to Baile!)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk gently: Place raw milk in a small saucepan over low heat. Heat just until steaming — avoid boiling to preserve nutrients.
  2. Add ingredients to your mug. Put the marshmallows and chocolate powder in the mug.
  3. Pour the warmed milk into the mug. Stir until the chocolate dissolves and the marshmallow melts in the chocolate and milk mixture.
  4. Optional: Add a pinch of sea salt to round out the flavor. Taste — the drink will be gently sweet from the milk and will fully sweeten once marshmallows melt in.

Why We Love Homemade Hot Chocolate

When you make hot chocolate at home, you choose every ingredient: raw milk, real chocolate, mineral-rich sea salt, and marshmallows without the junk. It turns a simple winter drink into a mindful ritual that feels grounding, cozy, and intentionally made.
